1 · Introduction

Long Life Friends Charity ("Long Life Friends," "we," "our," or "us") is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, protect, and share information when you visit longlifefriends.org, communicate with us, donate, purchase, schedule a pickup, or otherwise engage with our services.

By using our site or services, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our site.

2 · Information we collect

Information you provide

• Contact details — name, email, mobile phone number, mailing or pickup address.
• Form submissions — messages, pickup item descriptions, volunteer inquiries.
• Donation and purchase details — processed by third-party payment providers (PayPal, Stripe, CashApp). We do not store your full card number or bank credentials.
• Consent records — when you check an SMS or email consent box, we record the exact wording shown, a timestamp, the page URL, and the browser user-agent as evidence of consent.

Information collected automatically

• Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URL).
• Cookies and similar technologies (see §6).

3 · How we use information

• To respond to your request, schedule a pickup, or coordinate a donation.
• To send transactional messages (confirmations, receipts, replies).
• To send marketing messages by email or SMS only where you have separately opted in.
• To operate, maintain, and improve the site and services.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

4 · SMS messaging & consent

If you provide a mobile number and check the SMS consent box, Long Life Friends Charity may send you automated marketing and promotional text messages, including offers from #Shop2HelpOthers, Celebrity Auction announcements, property listings, event invitations and campaign updates, as well as service messages such as pickup scheduling confirmations and donation receipts.

Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties for marketing.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won't be shared with any third parties.

We do not include sensitive or identifying details about a request for help in any text message, and we do not send text messages to anyone who contacts us regarding domestic abuse, suicide intervention, or other crisis situations.

5 · How information is shared

We share information only with service providers that help us operate: payment processors (PayPal, Stripe, CashApp), our website/hosting and database provider (Supabase, Vercel, GoDaddy where applicable), SMS delivery (Twilio), email delivery, and analytics providers. Each acts under contract and is limited to the purpose for which we share the data.

We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect our rights, or with your consent.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share mobile numbers or SMS opt-in data with third parties for their marketing.

6 · Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to analyze traffic and improve your experience. You can decline non-essential cookies via our banner or your browser settings. We may use Google consent-mode analytics and, on some pages, third-party ad pixels. Where required, these fire only after your consent.

7 · Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide services, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

• SMS consent records — retained for a minimum of five (5) years to satisfy federal record-keeping expectations. Consent records are never deleted; opt-outs are recorded alongside the original consent.
• Donation records — retained per IRS and accounting requirements.
• Contact and pickup requests — retained for legitimate business purposes and then deleted or anonymized.

8 · Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. No system is perfectly secure — please report any suspected issue to help@longlifefriends.org.

9 · Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to opt out of certain sharing. To exercise these rights, email us at help@longlifefriends.org.

• Opt out of SMS: reply STOP to any message, or email us.
• Opt out of email: click "unsubscribe" or email us.
• California residents: the CCPA/CPRA give you rights over your personal information. We do not sell personal information.

10 · Children's privacy

Our site and SMS program are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

11 · Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
